Lawn Army Grub
Lawn Army Grub Control – Just to clarify the term “Army Grub” covers a broad range of Lawn Insect Pests including Army Worm and Sod Web Worm (being lawn foraging caterpillars and living above ground).
Late Summer and Autumn are the prime times for Army Worm damage to Sydney lawns.
For effective Army Worm Control: The good news is the infestation of Army Worm (and it’s Lifecycle) can be wiped out overnight with Rumbler Insecticide courtesy of Indigo Specialty Products. The active constituent in Rumbler is Bifenthrin. Rumbler is a professional product available in 5 litre bottles.
Bifentrin applied at the higher label rate will knock out the army worm (and its Lifecycle) overnight, also will provide protection for around 6 weeks.
Tips for the Lawn novice to identify if you have an Army Worm problem:
1. Increased bird activity on your lawn could be a sign there is Army Worm activity – generally you will see a few magpies and indian minor birds having a good feast on the army worm caterpillars
2. Pour a jug of warm soapy water over the affected / damaged area and see if the Army Worm caterpillars come to the surface
3. Brown patches where the lawn leaf has been eaten away back to the grass runners
