Matilda, like Sir Walter and Sapphire, is a good Australian Buffalo variety which can tolerate all the herbicides registered for use on Buffalo.

However, the only buffalo varieties we worry about are the American ST Buffalo varieties (known as St Augustine, or Buffalo as we know it).

The ST Buffalo grasses are completely intolerant of the broadfleaf weed herbicides like Javelin, Spearhead and Bindii Killer. So as a matter of protocol we ALWAYS test spray the buffalo grasses to make sure there is no die back.
